THE REGGAE BRUNCH PRESENTS
THE GRENADA SPECIAL
sponsored by
The Reggae Brunch has teamed up with the Grenada Tourism Authority to give you a touch of Grenadian culture and adventure of what Pure Grenada, the spice of the Caribbean has to offer.
On Saturday 1st June 2019, Reggae Brunch London will host a Pure Grenada Takeover One – Off Special. To kick off the day, from 12pm to 1pm we will be serving a Grenadian rum punch mixed into our infamous rum punch cocktail to tickle your taste buds. Followed by a Grenadian inspired 3-course meal, all I’m saying is stewed chicken, bakes – need I say more?
Sugar, spice Grenada, nicknamed ‘the Spice Isle’ also has sister-islands called Carriacou and Petite Martinique. There will be a raffle draw with prizes to be won and a face painter during the rum punch hour to create Grenadian bespoke designs. So, make sure you are ready rep your flag for the snaps and #puregrenada. The Grenada Tourism Authority has put together some limited goodie bag giveaways and MORE SURPRISES on the day!
With our resident DJ spinning all your favourite Reggae, lots of Soca, Calypso, Reggaeton, Bashment, Afro, Soul, Ska & Commercial hits all throughout, you will be giving more than just a two-step. Of course, as this is a Grenada special – be prepared for Soca. Grenada has a distinct style taking on the name of ‘jab jab’ and you may just have to ‘RUN WID IT’ as we celebrate Hollis Mapp ‘Mr. Killa’ (@mrkilla1) win at the 2019 International Soca Monarch.
Along with our resident host with the most, we will have an artist on stage. Aaron Reason also known as @merzysoca, a singer/songwriter from London who spent most of his childhood in Grenada for your entertainment! Don’t say we don’t spoil you!
As Finber ”Shortpree” Andrews will say, ‘ we playing mass as one people’, wave your flag proud, are you ready for a touch of Grenada?
Here are The Reggae Brunch Top 5 Picks of must do’s in Pure Grenada:
1. Grand Anse Beach. The iconic Grand Anse Beach is Grenada’s show-stopper, wowing beach lovers with a two-mile stretch of pristine sherbet-white sand that gently shelves into the glistening waters of the Caribbean Sea.
2. Learn the basics of chocolate making at Belmont Estate. Set on a 395-acre plot in the northern reaches of Grenada, the authentic 17th-century working plantation known as Belmont Estate is an organic cocoa farm and cocoa fermentary.
3. Grenada’s traditional Carnival – Spicemas. In Grenada, August is the busiest month, so if you want to travel from the UK to participate in this traditional Caribbean carnival, book early to avoid disappointment. http://www.spicemasgrenada.com/
4. Appreciate Grenada’s snorkeling adventure and underwater art. The islands’ eclectic and exotic underwater world is a first-rate diving destination that satisfies every demand, from 15 shipwrecks lurking at varying depths below the surface to an underwater volcano.
5. Sip a unique tipple. Grenada has several authentic and active distilleries, all making rum of distinctive character, including Rivers Antoine, St Patrick. Tel (473)-442-7109 an organic, slightly over-proof rum whose cane is still crushed by an ancient waterwheel; the estate and distillery are open to visitors.
