3. Attend one of the largest music festivals in Jamaica – Reggae Sumfest

Located in the heart of Montego Bay, Reggae Sumfest is Jamaica’s iconic music festival which mixes reggae icons and international artists with local acts, plus delicious Jamaican food and lively beach parties. The festival’s 2019 event marks the 27^th anniversary and will run from 14^th – 20^th July. The week-long event hosted in Montego Bay attracts music fans from all over the world providing authentic Jamaican music and cultural experiences.  The line-up includes Chronixx, Spice, Spragga Benz, Buju Banton, Elephant Man and more.

 

4. Take part in ‘the happiest marathon in the world’ – The Reggae Marathon

Recognised as ‘the happiest marathon in the world’, the Reggae Marathon takes place on the first Sunday in December every year. Marathoners and sports enthusiasts, as well as beginners, will start at Long Bay Beach Park situated along Negril’s famed seven-mile white sand beach, for a fun event characterised by good vibes and lots of Reggae music. The Reggae Marathon also offers a half marathon and 10k course to suit everyone.

5. Follow in the footsteps of music legends with a stay at Strawberry Hill

Owned by record producer and founder of Island Records, Chris Blackwell, Strawberry Hill is steeped in musical history and is a haven for music legends. Strawberry Hill became a meeting place for musicians to jam together including Mick Jagger and Peter Tosh. You can holiday at the secluded property which was one of Bob Marley’s favourite places to stay during the 1970s or take a day visit and enjoy a brunch with spectacular views.
